The headquarters of Tom Growney Equipment has been in
the same location since the doors opened in 1966. Acquisition
of adjacent land has increased the site to nearly eight acres.
As private and public sector development has accelerated
throughout the state, the company has expanded to meet the
increasing demand for construction equipment. Albuquerque
itself has grown up around the business, whose modern 20,000
square-foot facility now sits in the midst of a busy commercial
zone. The El Paso, Texas branch was the first to be added
to the Albuquerque base of the business. The company acquired
an existing Deere and Company dealership there in 1980 to
better serve the southern part of New Mexico and the West
Texas market. The following year the firm opened a new branch
in Farmington to service northwestern New Mexico. By 1988
development in southeastern New Mexico had grown enough
for TGE to open a branch in Hobbs.
Each branch offers a full range of products, parts and
services. Many of the senior personnel are highly experienced
employees who have transferred from the Albuquerque headquarters.
All branches have field service capability.
